Server Administrator

We are seeking a skilled Server Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our companys server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our servers, both physical and virtual, supporting business-critical applications and services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software (Windows Server, Linux, etc.).

• Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to minimize downtime.

• Perform regular system updates, patches, backups, and recovery operations.

• Manage user access, permissions, and security policies to protect sensitive data.

• Configure and maintain virtual environments using tools like VMware, Hyper-V, or similar.

• Monitor network connectivity related to servers and resolve connectivity issues.

• Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.

• Collaborate with IT teams to plan and implement server infrastructure upgrades.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices related to server management.

• Respond promptly to server-related incidents and coordinate with other teams for resolution.

• Implement and maintain disaster recovery plans and business continuity procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.

• Proven experience as a Server Administrator or similar role.

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux server operating systems.

• Experience with server virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python is a plus.

• Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication skills to document and report on system status.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or CompTIA Server+.

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
