About the job Community Mental Health Worker
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify clients' mental health needs and develop personalized care plans.
- Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and case management for clients.
- Facilitate access to community resources such as housing, healthcare, and employment support.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals, social workers, and community organizations to coordinate services.
- Educate clients and families about mental health conditions, coping strategies, and available services.
- Monitor client progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Advocate for client rights and reduce barriers to accessing mental health services.
- Organize and participate in community outreach and mental health awareness initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- Certification in Mental Health First Aid or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in community mental health or social services.
- Knowledge of community resources and mental health services.
