Location: Upcoming project site, approximately 30 minutes north of Edmonton, AB
Company: Infracon Construction Inc.
Project Duration: September December 2025 (anticipated)
Shift Schedule: 6 days on / 1 day off (subject to change by project leadership)
About the Project:
Infracon Construction is preparing to deliver a large-scale earthworks and infrastructure project north of Edmonton. The scope includes pond construction, desludging and dewatering, HDPE liner and piping installation, road upgrades, and site works. We are looking for hardworking and reliable Skilled Labourers to join our project team.
Position Overview:
We are seeking motivated Skilled Labourers to support earthworks and site construction activities. Successful candidates will be safety-focused, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic construction environment. Previous experience with packer or skid steer equipment is considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of labour tasks to support earthworks, piping, and liner installation activities
- Load, unload, and move construction materials and equipment around the site
- Assist with assembling and installing HDPE and PVC piping, including handling, positioning, and securing materials
- Support excavation and grading crews by spotting, flagging, and ensuring safe movement of equipment
- Operate small tools, compactors, and other light equipment in a safe and effective manner
- Shovel, rake, and compact material for trenching, backfill, and road/berm construction
- Carry out routine site maintenance such as cleaning work areas, removing debris, and keeping laydown and access routes organized
- Assist heavy equipment operators (dozers, excavators, graders, trucks) with tasks to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
- Perform quality checks on work areas, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards
- Work closely with supervisors to complete tasks in line with daily and weekly work plans
- Participate actively in safety programs, including daily toolbox talks, hazard assessments, and the use of proper PPE
- Be flexible and adaptable to changing project priorities, stepping into other labour or equipment support roles as required
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous construction or civil earthworks labour experience preferred
- Packer or skid steer operating experience is considered a strong asset
- Valid Alberta drivers licence preferred (Class 5 or higher)
- CSTS-2020, WHMIS, and Ground Disturbance certifications are considered assets (training can be provided if needed)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to take on a variety of tasks
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with good communication skills
