As our organization continues to grow, we are seeking a Recruitment Specialist to support our expanding project pipeline and group of companies. This role will play a key part in helping attract, recruit, and onboard qualified candidates across a range of operational, technical, and corporate positions. The role may be based in Kamloops, BC or Calgary, AB, and will support hiring needs across multiple business units and project locations. This position reports to the Human Resources & Community Relations Manager, based out of the Company's Kamloops, BC office.

About the Role

The Recruitment Specialist is responsible for supporting full-cycle recruitment activities across Infracon and its affiliated group of companies. This role works closely with hiring managers, operational leaders, HR, and other internal stakeholders to identify talent needs, source qualified candidates, coordinate interviews, and help deliver an efficient and positive hiring experience.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, organized, and relationship-driven recruitment professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands how to balance urgency, quality, and candidate experience. Experience recruiting in large-scale civil construction, mining, and other dynamic industrial project environments is ideal, as this role will support hiring across complex and operationally demanding businesses.

Recruitment needs across the organization are often dynamic and fluid, with priorities that can shift quickly based on project demands, operational changes, mobilization timelines, business growth, and workforce availability. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in an environment where hiring needs can change rapidly and must be able to assess competing demands, adapt quickly, and shift priorities effectively while maintaining strong organization, communication, and follow-through.

This position is also intended to help strengthen and modernize recruitment systems and processes across the organization. The successful candidate will contribute to enhancing the company's applicant tracking processes, improving recruitment reporting and visibility, supporting the implementation of meaningful performance metrics, and identifying opportunities to use technology and AI tools responsibly to improve efficiency, consistency, and overall hiring outcomes.

Who You Are

You are a people-focused and solutions-driven recruitment professional who understands the importance of hiring the right people to support operational success. You are confident managing multiple active job openings, building talent pipelines, and working closely with leaders to understand workforce needs across a diverse organization.

You bring strong recruitment experience, ideally in large-scale civil construction, mining, and other fast-paced industrial project settings, and understand the unique workforce demands, timelines, and challenges that come with supporting project-based operations. You are organized, responsive, and professional in your communication, and you know how to identify strong candidates, ask the right questions, maintain confidentiality, and create a positive candidate experience from first contact through onboarding.

You are highly adaptable and able to shift priorities quickly in response to changing business and project needs. You are comfortable working through competing demands, adjusting your focus as required, and maintaining momentum across multiple recruitment streams without losing attention to detail or responsiveness.

You are also interested in continuous improvement and understand the value of strong recruitment systems, clear reporting, and data-informed decision-making. You are comfortable helping improve applicant tracking processes, identifying useful KPIs, and leveraging AI and other modern recruitment tools in a practical, ethical, and professional manner to support stronger hiring outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support full-cycle recruitment for positions across Infracon and its group of companies, including field, trades, operations, professional, and administrative roles
  • Partner with hiring managers and business leaders to understand workforce needs, position requirements, timelines, and desired candidate profiles
  • Draft, post, and manage job advertisements across various platforms and recruitment channels
  • Source candidates through online platforms, referrals, talent pipelines, community outreach, and other recruitment strategies
  • Review resumes, conduct initial candidate screening, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
  • Support the selection process by gathering feedback, assisting with candidate evaluations, and helping move hiring decisions forward in a timely manner
  • Build and maintain candidate pools for recurring and future project-based hiring needs
  • Help support recruitment planning tied to project mobilization, seasonal workforce needs, and business growth
  • Coordinate pre-employment steps including references, certifications, assessments, and other hiring requirements as applicable
  • Support offer preparation, hiring documentation, and onboarding coordination in collaboration with HR and operations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date recruitment records, candidate tracking, and hiring status updates
  • Assist with enhancing and maintaining the company's applicant tracking processes and recruitment systems to improve efficiency, visibility, and consistency across the hiring process
  • Support the development, tracking, and reporting of meaningful recruitment KPIs such as time-to-fill, source effectiveness, candidate pipeline activity, offer acceptance rates, and other hiring metrics that support workforce planning and decision-making
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruitment workflows, reporting, talent pipeline management, and overall hiring effectiveness through process improvement and best practices
  • Support the practical and responsible use of AI and other technology tools to improve recruitment administration, sourcing, screening support, reporting, and process efficiency, while maintaining professionalism, sound judgment, data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with company standards
  • Assist with recruitment reporting, labour market trends, and hiring activity tracking to support workforce planning
  • Represent Infracon professionally in all candidate, community, school, and industry interactions
  • Support employment branding and recruitment outreach initiatives that strengthen awareness of Infracon and its affiliated companies
  • Participate in job fairs, hiring events, community engagement initiatives, and other workforce development activities as required
  • Ensure recruitment practices align with company values, internal processes, and applicable legislation
  • Support other duties and responsibilities as required to contribute to the success of the company and its projects

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of recruitment, talent acquisition, or related HR experience
  • Experience managing full-cycle recruitment in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent openings
  • Experience recruiting for large-scale civil construction, mining, and other dynamic industrial projects is strongly preferred
  • Experience recruiting for field, trades, operations, and project-based roles is considered a strong asset
  • Experience supporting recruitment in fast-paced environments where workforce needs, project demands, and hiring priorities shift frequently is considered a strong asset
  • Experience supporting hiring across multiple business units, locations, or departments is considered an asset
  • Experience working with applicant tracking systems and recruitment reporting tools is preferred
  • Experience developing, monitoring, or reporting on recruitment KPIs and hiring metrics is considered an asset
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools or modern recruitment technologies to support sourcing, administration, and process improvement is considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of recruitment best practices, candidate screening, and interview coordination
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is considered an asset
  • CPHR designation, or progress toward it, is considered an asset
  • Valid driver's licence required
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada

  • Support and promote Infracon's health and safety culture in all recruitment and onboarding activities

  • Drug and alcohol testing may be required in accordance with company or project requirements

Work Environment & Compensation

This role may be based in Kamloops, BC or Calgary, AB and will support hiring needs across multiple company divisions and project locations. The position is primarily office-based, with the expectation of regular collaboration with operational leaders and occasional travel to project sites, hiring events, or community engagement activities as required.
