Rock Truck Operators

Infracon is a full-service civil construction & industrial services group with job sites all over Western Canada. We are seeking experienced Rock Truck Operators to support our earthworks project at the New Gold's New Afton near Kamloops, BC.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years previous experience operating a 30t-40t rock truck preferably in a mine environment. Preference will also be given to candidates that reside within commuting distant to the mine site as there is no camp or LOA available for this project. We are looking for candidates that have demonstrated a commitment to safety and want to be part of an exciting project and operations team.

Successful candidate(s) comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and participate in safety meetings, hazard assessment (JHA, FLHAetc.) and complete pre and post-trip inspections.

Responsibilities:

• Operate up to 40t rock truck in a safe manner following site regulations and company protocols.
• Moving, dumping and loading materials to support the project requirements.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights, turning signals, brakes and monitor vehicle performance.
• Complete ELD and/or drivers logbook & daily vehicle inspection, maintenance and repair reports, accident or incident reports.
• Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles including greasing and washing truck
• Handle and distribute materials, loading and unloading vehicles with materials, and remove all debris and hazards from work sites
• Represent the company, its clients and all stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner
• Other responsibilities to support the success of the company and it's project.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Must have a Class 5 Driver's License and clean Driver's Abstract
• The ideal candidate has 3 years previous experience operating a 30t-40t rock truck.
• Previous mine experience is considered an asset.
• Sufficient mechanical ability to troubleshoot and make minor repairs to equipment and vehicle is ideal.
• Capable of working with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work independently and demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Must have a demonstrated commitment to being a safety leader
• Drug and Alcohol testing as required.

Safety Requirements:

• Basic PPE to be supplied by the worker are boots, hi-visibility vest, hardhat and glasses. Infracon will provide any specialized PPE.
• Drug and Alcohol testing, as required
• Safety certifications (First Aid, CSTS, etc.) considered an asset

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

This position works outdoors a majority of time and conditions may include very cold or hot temperatures, wind, flying dust, and uneven ground. The position requires frequent standing, walking, twisting, bending, reaching and kneeling. Must be able to climb ladders, and work from stationary platforms from elevated heights.
