Schedule: 4 days on / 4 days off, 10-hour shifts
Reports To: Project Superintendent
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Red Seal Electrician to support the Site Wide Services project at Highland Valley Copper – Mine Life Extension (MLE). This multi-year project will run through 2027 and plays a key role in supporting mining operations and infrastructure.
In this position, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and site safety standards. The role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual comfortable working in an industrial mining environment.
The ideal candidate is a certified Red Seal Electrician with strong troubleshooting skills, a focus on safety, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, equipment, and components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
- Ensure all work meets CSA, CEC, and site-specific electrical standards.
- Support commissioning and start-up of electrical systems as needed.
- Collaborate with other trades to coordinate work safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate documentation of electrical work performed and materials used.
- Actively participate in daily safety meetings and uphold a strong safety culture.
Qualifications
Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician Certification (required).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in industrial or mining settings.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control circuits, and instrumentation.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Physically capable of working in a mining environment with varying weather conditions.
- Valid Driver's License and ability to travel to site.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
