Our client, a respected player in the iGaming and Sports Betting industry, is looking for a commercially sharp, high-energy Sales and Marketing Manager to take ownership of venue sales, event marketing, and revenue-generating brand activations in Johannesburg.

The Role
As the Sales and Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for generating revenue through the sale of event spaces, while also driving marketing campaigns and promotional activity that enhance brand visibility and commercial performance.
You will play a key role in identifying opportunities, securing bookings, managing relationships, and ensuring that marketing efforts support both brand growth and sales outcomes. This role requires someone who is equally comfortable pitching to clients, negotiating deals, developing campaigns, and working closely with internal stakeholders to deliver standout event experiences.
Your key job responsibilities as Sales and Marketing Manager in Johannesburg, South Africa will include:
- Driving sales of event and hospitality spaces for corporate functions, brand activations, VIP events, sporting occasions, and large-scale hosted experiences
- Identifying and converting new business opportunities through proactive sales outreach, networking, relationship building, and strategic partnerships
- Managing the full sales cycle from lead generation and client engagement through to proposal development, negotiation, closing, and post-event relationship management
- Developing and executing marketing plans that promote venue offerings, event packages, and brand experiences to the right target audiences
- Creating compelling promotional strategies to increase venue visibility, attract bookings, and strengthen market presence
- Working closely with internal teams to align marketing activity with revenue targets, event calendars, and business growth objectives
- Building strong relationships with corporate clients, agencies, sponsors, event planners, and commercial partners
- Managing venue marketing collateral, sales presentations, campaign messaging, and promotional materials to ensure strong and consistent brand positioning
- Analysing market trends, competitor activity, and customer demand to identify new commercial opportunities and improve go-to-market strategies
- Overseeing event-related campaigns across digital, social, print, and partnership channels to maximise reach and engagement
- Negotiating pricing, packages, supplier agreements, and partnership terms to ensure commercial value and profitability
- Supporting the successful execution of booked events by ensuring smooth coordination between clients and operational teams
- Monitoring sales performance, campaign ROI, occupancy targets, and event revenue, with clear reporting and recommendations for improvement
- Representing the brand professionally at meetings, networking functions, industry events, and client engagements
Requirements for this Sales and Marketing Manager job in Johannesburg, South Africa:
- Minimum 4–6 years' experience in a sales and marketing role with a strong commercial focus
- Proven experience selling event spaces, hospitality packages, venue hire, or large-scale event solutions
- Previous experience within businesses that specialise in hiring out venues for major events, conferences, functions, activations, or premium hospitality experiences
- Experience working with casino venues, golf course venues, hospitality venues, or entertainment-led environments would be a strong advantage
- Strong marketing experience, with the ability to create and execute campaigns that directly support sales and brand growth
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets, growing revenue, and securing new business
- Excellent commercial negotiation and relationship management skills
- Strong understanding of branding, promotions, advertising, and customer-facing marketing execution
- Ability to manage multiple projects, clients, and campaigns in a fast-paced environment
- Strong presentation, communication, and proposal-writing skills
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with sales, operations, marketing, and leadership teams
- Good financial and commercial acumen, including budgeting, pricing, and ROI tracking
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence using CRM or sales tracking tools
- Relevant qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business, Communications, Hospitality, or a related field is advantageous
- Willingness to travel when required and work flexible hours aligned to events and client needs
