A fast-growing sportsbook operator in Cape Town is expanding its finance team and is looking for a Junior Accountant who thrives in a high-volume, regulated, performance-led environment.

The Opportunity
As the Junior Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function and maintaining transactional accuracy across the sportsbook ecosystem. You will work closely with the wider finance team to ensure betting platform activity, payment flows, bank reconciliations, and VAT obligations are accurately recorded and controlled.
This is a role for someone who is detail-driven, commercially aware, and confident working in an environment where speed and precision go hand in hand.
What Youll Be Doing

Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger postings

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across bank accounts and payment service providers

Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

Capture, review, and reconcile betting platform transactions and related revenue streams

Assist with month-end and year-end close activities

Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with relevant requirements

Provide reporting support and financial data insights to management

Assist with audit preparation and support engagement with external auditors where required

Help maintain strong internal controls within a regulated gaming environment
What Were Looking For

3–5 years experience in bookkeeping or junior accounting

Exposure to the iGaming, Sportsbook, or online gaming sector

Relevant qualification in Accounting or Finance

Solid understanding of reconciliations, revenue recognition, and financial controls

Experience using accounting packages such as Xero, Sage, Pastel, or similar

Strong Excel skills

Based in Cape Town
