Configuration Engineer

Role & Responsibilities Overview:

• Configure and manage JSON and YAML-based configurations for application forms, rules, and workflows
• Define dynamic UI forms, field properties, validations, and conditional logic using JSON / YAML
• Implement and maintain business rules and rule configurations in a configuration-driven platform
• Translate functional and business requirements into structured JSON / YAML configurations
• Customize application behavior through configuration rather than custom code
• Validate, test, and troubleshoot configuration changes across environments
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and QA teams to deliver configuration solutions
• Maintain version control, documentation, and governance for configuration artifacts
• Ensure compliance with platform standards and best practices

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelors/Master's degree in economics, mathematics, computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields from the top tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply
• Demonstrated work experience with insurance domain based web-products/SaaS applications
• 3+ years working as a configuration engineer
• Good to have knowledge of object-oriented programming and other scripting languages including Python, JS etc.
• Strong understanding of JSON and YAML syntax, structure, and best practices
• Experience configuring forms, rules, and conditional logic in enterprise systems
• Ability to convert business requirements into accurate configurations
• Experience working in enterprise or structured development environments
• Good to have exposure to low-code / no-code or configuration-driven platforms
• Understanding of rule engines and workflow orchestration
• Basic knowledge of .NET or backend services for integration awareness

• Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies
• Good critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Strong record of achievement, solid analytical ability, and an entrepreneurial hands-on approach to work
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and presentation skills
• Able to work in fast pace continuously evolving environment and ready to take up uphill challenges
• Is able to understand cross cultural differences and can work with clients across the globe
