Job Summary
The Vice President of Data Management is an executive leader responsible for overseeing client engagement strategy, delivery success, account growth, and financial performance across a diverse set of industry verticals (e.g., Sports & Entertainment, Media, CPG, Manufacturing, Energy, CPG etc).
This role combines hands-on leadership in data management with a consultative approach to solving complex enterprise data challenges. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a global consulting firm, a strong background in enterprise data management (EDM), and a track record of owning P&L, building high-performing teams, and delivering measurable client outcomes across varied sectors.
Key Responsibilities
40% Vertical Expansion & Strategic Growth

Drive $10M+ in annual revenue through the growth of client accounts across diversified industries.

Build industry-specific go-to-market strategies and consultative solutions in EDM, data governance, data platforms, and analytics.

Lead client portfolio strategy and collaborate with business unit leaders to shape offerings and account pursuits.

Act as a strategic advisor to client executives across industries, identifying opportunities to expand data and analytics services.
30% Client Relationship Leadership

Serve as the executive sponsor for client engagements, ensuring business value delivery and client satisfaction.

Cultivate long-term C-level relationships and identify opportunities for cross-sell and upsell into data, digital, analytics, cloud, and AI/ML.

Conduct executive business reviews, ROI demonstrations, and client feedback sessions to ensure alignment with client goals.

Lead strategic solutioning and proposal development for complex data transformation programs.
15% Engagement Oversight & Operations

Oversee delivery excellence through structured engagement metrics, governance, and financial tracking (revenue, margins, utilization).

Manage SOW execution, change orders, and project escalations to ensure delivery success.

Coordinate with finance, delivery, and resourcing to forecast, provision, and optimize account profitability.
10% Leadership & Talent Development

Mentor project leaders, solution architects, and client partners; build a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and skills development initiatives across the data management practice.

Serve as an executive presence in internal forums and industry events to elevate brand and talent attraction.
5% Cross-BU Collaboration & Other Duties

Partner with leaders from analytics, digital, and AI/ML to develop joint offerings.

Contribute to IP development, industry playbooks, and reusable accelerators in EDM and cloud data solutions.
Qualifications
-
Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

15+ years of experience in enterprise data management and transformation (EDM, data warehousing, MDM, data quality, governance).

10+ years in a consulting or professional services environment, with delivery, practice, and business development responsibilities.

Prior P&L ownership and demonstrated success in growing multi-million-dollar accounts across different industries.

Experience leading pre-sales, proposals, and solution shaping with cross-functional delivery and sales teams.
Nice to Have

Domain expertise in at least 2 - 3 industries such as CPG, Retail, Manufacturing, Sports & Entertainment.

Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, GCP, AWS, Azure), MDM tools, and governance frameworks.

Certifications in Agile, PMP, or industry-standard data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK).

Exposure to emerging technologies like AI/ML, GenAI, and real-time data integration tools.
