Responsibilities

  • Translating official Japanese manga that we licensed to English
  • Using our localization tool to adjust & make sure the translated texts fit into the text boxes
  • Collaborating with proofreaders & quality checkers

Qualifications

  • Native Japanese fluency is a must. Native/Advanced English fluency.
  • Excellent grammar, syntax, writing and editing skills in both Japanese and English
  • Understanding of the North American culture and the ability to provide contextual translation for our global audience
  • Computer skills; ability to learn and utilize new software applications
  • Highly responsible, organized & detail-oriented
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Understanding of mature content (BL/GL, etc.)
  • Can work with us for at least 3 months

Plus

  • University degree or equivalent professional experience in (manga) translation/localization
  • Good understanding of the comics industry and/or avid passion for manga/comics
  • Interest in Japanese content
