IT Engineer Azure & Cybersecurity

Were currently seeking a talented IT Projects Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure and Cybersecurity to join our growing professional services team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, planning, and implementation of cloud-based and security-focused infrastructure projects for our clients. You'll work alongside Project Managers, Solution Architects, and Technical Specialists to deliver robust, secure, and scalable solutions that meet client needs and drive digital transformation. You'll also play a key role in evaluating, improving, and securing existing environments, while contributing to the continuous development of best practices in infrastructure and cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and support Azure-based infrastructure and hybrid environments
• Lead the implementation of cloud migrations, identity and access management improvements, and endpoint security upgrades
• Review existing IT environments to assess risks and recommend technical security and performance improvements
• Implement security best practices across client systems, including firewall configuration, endpoint protection, and identity management
• Work with the wider team to deliver successful outcomes on Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune, and Defender for Endpoint projects
• Maintain documentation in line with internal project and security standards
• Support the development of business continuity and disaster recovery strategies
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients on infrastructure and security roadmap planning

Required Experience & Skills

• 5+ years' experience in an IT projects or infrastructure engineering role
• Deep understanding of Microsoft Azure services including:
  • Azure AD, Conditional Access, Microsoft Defender, Azure Firewall, and Virtual Networks
• Strong foundation in IT security principles and frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS etc.)
• Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP
• Experience in cloud security, network segmentation, endpoint protection, and multi-factor authentication
• Demonstrated ability to lead or contribute to infrastructure and security improvement projects
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and Intune

Desirable Qualifications

• Microsoft certifications (e.g. AZ-104, MS-500, SC-200, or similar)
• Experience with firewalls, network monitoring, and SIEM tools
• Experience in delivering client training or workshops is a plus
