This work experience programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers that are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme. Your eligibility for this programme will have to be verified by the Department as part of the application process. If you are in receipt of the Pandemic Unemployment Payment (PUP) you will be required to transfer to a Jobseekers payment in order to participate on the programme.

The Professional Services team at INNOVATE are seeking a Work-Placement Participant to learn about Project Coordination. They will learn how to assist in managing an IT Service company installations pipeline, and how to support a team of Solution Engineers in planning the delivery and installation of technical solutions on time, within budget and to the highest quality.

Successful Participants will learn many aspects of the Project Coordinator role. You will learn how to organise your work to meet tight deadlines, learn the use of Microsoft Project and Office applications such as Word and Excel, and be coached on how to improve your verbal, written, and presentation skills.

To partake in this WPEP, the Participant should have an interest in Technology, be organised, and have an interest to learn. The Participant will also receive structured training via a QQI Level 5 Communications Course or a QQI Level 6 Project Management Course. There will be training time provided for during the normal WPEP hours in the office.

This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.

The participant will receive formal/informal training and mentoring in the following:

On top of company induction, the participant will receive over 40 hours of training and mentoring in:

- The organising and coordinating of daily work schedules for service engineers

- The use of ConnectWise software

- How to prioritise resources for the consultancy work sold by the sales team

- How to communicate with clients on the scheduling and delivery of all technical solution installations and assigned projects.

- How to review the new install tickets to assess the requirements and urgency of projects & prioritise and plan accordingly.

- How to ensure all installation tickets are up to date and accurate in the management software and on each Engineers calendars

The Participant will shadow and learn from the Project Manager, the Mentor, to learn all aspects of a Project Coordinator's role in a busy IT Services Company.

The participant will be enrolled in either the online QQI Level 6 Project Management (6N4090) course, or the QQI Level 5 Certificate in Communications (5N0690), depending on the training requirements of the particular candidate. These courses offer more than 20 hours of online training and can be completed over a period of 8 weeks.
