With decades of experience and a deep commitment to sustainable practices, the company plays a pivotal role in supporting food supply chains both in Ireland and internationally.

The organisation is currently undertaking a significant enterprise transformation, transitioning from a Transitional Service Agreement (TSA) and establishing an independent technology environment. As part of this change, the business is building a best-in-class SAP ecosystem to support long-term growth and operational excellence.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced SAP leader to establish and manage a dedicated SAP Centre of Excellence (CoE). This is a high-impact role focused on building a future-ready SAP landscape that supports enterprise-wide integration, continuous improvement, and digital maturity.

The SAP CoE Lead will own the SAP roadmap, oversee delivery governance, and manage both internal SAP capability and external partners. This includes ensuring alignment with business goals, technical readiness, and smooth transition from the TSA model to a stable, scalable SAP operating structure.

Core Accountabilities

  • Define and govern the SAP roadmap in alignment with overall business strategy, ICT goals, and TSA exit timelines

  • Lead internal and external SAP delivery teams to ensure on-time, high-quality outcomes

  • Oversee SAP solution design based on fit-to-standard principles and best practices for enterprise integration

  • Coordinate data migration, object delivery, and technical alignment across streams

  • Ensure SAP systems integrate seamlessly with enterprise platforms and architecture

  • Build and manage a scalable SAP Target Operating Model and post-go-live CoE support structure

  • Engage stakeholders across business functions, ICT, and partner networks to drive programme success

  • Enforce structured change, testing, and release management processes within the SAP environment

  • Ensure compliance with licensing, security, and audit standards

  • Promote a continuous improvement mindset across the SAP landscape

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end ownership of the SAP roadmap and delivery outcomes

  • Governance of solution design, data quality, and system integration

  • Management of System Integrators and third-party vendors to ensure delivery against KPIs

  • Definition and operation of a high-performing SAP CoE

  • Internal SAP capability development and alignment with ICT and business architecture

  • Risk management, audit readiness, and compliance leadership

  • Driving post-implementation enhancements and ongoing SAP maturity

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Leadership & Governance: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and govern large-scale SAP environments

  • Strategic Thinking: Skilled in aligning SAP capabilities with business transformation goals and ICT architecture

  • Programme Delivery: Expertise in SAP lifecycle management including data migration, cutover, and deployment

  • Vendor Management: Proven experience managing System Integrators and service partners

  • Integration Expertise: Knowledge of SAP integration with enterprise systems and cloud platforms

  • Change Management: Strong understanding of structured release and testing cycles

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences

  • Continuous Improvement: Committed to driving support excellence and operational optimisation post go-live

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Proven experience in leading large-scale SAP programmes, ideally within a post-TSA or enterprise transformation context

  • Strong knowledge of SAP architecture, fit-to-standard implementation approaches, and platform integration

  • Experience in building and leading internal SAP teams and operating models

  • A background in delivering change and continuous improvement within complex ICT environments
