About the job IT Support Contractor
We are seeking an IT Support Contractor to join the team at a global manufacturing company based in Leixlip, Co. Kildare.
As a member of the IT department, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive IT support to approximately 160 end-users across various departments.
This is a 12-month on-site contract role, with Monday to Friday working hours. This role will be become available when the new Client contract commences mid-summer, and will be supported by the company's Managed Service Provider.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and resolving technical problems in a timely manner.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Assist with the setup and configuration of new workstations for employees.
- Respond to user inquiries and provide guidance on the use of software applications and systems.
- Collaborate with the IT team to identify and implement solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IT services.
- Ensure the security and integrity of data by implementing and maintaining appropriate security measures.
- Conduct regular maintenance and updates of software and systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Create and update documentation for IT processes, procedures, and user guides.
- Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and assist in resolving network-related problems.
- Participate in IT projects and initiatives as required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in providing IT support in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems, including Windows 10.
- Familiarity with common software applications and tools, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- A proactive and customer-focused approach to providing IT support.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are desirable but not essential.
