Position Overview:

The Project Support Associate plays a critical role in driving project performance, financial accuracy, and operational discipline across active jobs. This position serves as the analytical backbone of our project teams—supporting Account Managers and Project Managers by tracking financials, monitoring job progress, identifying variances, and ensuring projects are billed accurately and on time.

This role is ideal for candidates who are highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with numbers, Excel, and financial data. The Project Support Associate acts as a central hub for project data, helping leadership and project teams understand how jobs are performing and where corrective action may be needed.

Key Responsibilities

Project Financial Tracking & Analysis

  • Maintain and update detailed job trackers that compare estimated vs. actual costs
  • Track project performance metrics and identify cost overruns, margin erosion, or efficiency issues
  • Proactively call out variances and trends that impact project profitability

Change Orders & Purchase Orders

  • Track all change orders from submission through approval and billing
  • Follow up internally and with clients on pending change orders and purchase orders
  • Ensure approved change orders are reflected accurately in job cost reports and invoices

Project Progress & Billing Readiness

  • Interface with Project Managers to determine job completion status and readiness for billing
  • Confirm projects are invoiced promptly once billable milestones are achieved
  • Ensure billing aligns with contract terms, approved change orders, and project progress

Account & Project Manager Support

  • Support Account Managers with financial insights and reporting related to their projects
  • Provide feedback to Project Managers on job performance, cost trends, and schedule impacts

Client Interaction

  • Communicate with clients regarding outstanding change orders, POs, and billing-related items
  • Maintain a professional and organized approach when following up on financial documentation

Qualifications & Preferred Background

Education

  • Bachelors degree (or working toward) in a quantitative, analytical, or operations-oriented field (Finance/Accounting, Business Analytics, Engineering, Construction Management, etc.)
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience, internships, or demonstrated analytical aptitude may be considered in lieu of a specific major

Skills & Experience

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and maintaining structured trackers
  • Maintains accurate logs, trackers, and follow-up records across multiple active projects
  • Reviews and interprets job cost and production data; motivated to build deeper project controls and performance analysis capability
  • Manages multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment while maintaining accuracy and consistency
  • Communicates clearly in writing and verbally, summarizing status, risks, and open items in a structured way
  • Drives closure through structured, cross-functional follow-up with PMs, AMs, field crews, AR, and clients

Work setup:

  • Location: Cairo, Egypt
  • Hours: 4:00 PM 1:00 AM (Egypt Time)
  • Hybrid Model: Initial 3-month on-site period in Nasr City, with potential transition to a 3 WFH / 2 in-office schedule based on performance and business needs.
