Backend Developer – AI & Satellite Data at Insert Technologies
We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer to join an advanced AI group focused on developing and deploying models for satellite imagery analysis, including Electro-Optical (EO) and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between AI research and operational capabilities by designing, developing, and deploying scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop reliable, scalable, and high-performance backend services and APIs.
- Lead the design and implementation of microservices-based architectures.
- Manage the full data lifecycle, including integration with multiple data sources and satellite imagery.
- Build data-processing and ingestion pipelines for AI and machine learning systems.
- Optimize system performance and address latency-related challenges.
- Develop and operate distributed services using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Monitor backend services, including logs, performance metrics, availability, and reliability.
- Collaborate closely with AI researchers, ML engineers, and DevOps engineers to deploy production-grade capabilities.
- Apply best practices in scalability, security, reliability, and software architecture.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a Backend Developer or Software Engineer.
- Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph.
- Experience working with FastAPI and FastMCP.
- Practical experience running and integrating Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Strong experience designing microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
- Significant experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Deep understanding of scalability, information security, reliability, and production system design.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with satellite imagery or SAR/EO data.
- Experience with messaging and streaming platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Experience with real-time, low-latency, or mission-critical systems.
- Familiarity with MLOps processes or experience integrating backend systems with AI and ML models.
