Setup Technician - Extrusion

Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Production Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Set-Up Technician to support operations at our client's vaughan facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient setup, operation, and basic maintenance of production equipment to ensure smooth and safe manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate production equipment according to established procedures and safety protocols.

• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues as they arise.

• Adhere to all workplace safety policies and relevant legislation.

• Operate machinery during production runs as needed.

• Utilize hand and power tools, as well as precision measuring instruments, properly and safely.

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment remains in optimal condition.

• Assist in general machine maintenance, including greasing, oiling, and cleaning.

• Participate in and support preventive maintenance programs, maintaining accurate service records.

• Train and mentor junior set-up technicians when required.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum of 2 years experience in equipment setup or industrial maintenance.

• Comfortable reading and interpreting work instructions and technical documentation.

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.

• Previous forklift experience is a plus.

• Experience with roll forming equipment and changeovers is considered an asset.

• Proficient in using calipers and other measurement tools.

• Flexibility to work extended hours before or after regular shifts when necessary.

• Familiarity with hand tools and machine shop equipment is advantageous.
