KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the onsite Supervisor in Vaughan, ON, the incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Receive paperwork and decipher what wooden materials are required.
  • Itemize the paperwork to determine how many of each material piece is needed and organize it based on the sequence provided to you.
  • Cut components in order to fulfill the order.
  • Examine each individual part for defects.
  • Prepare and position cabinetry drawer parts for assembly.
  • Ensure each component is fastened together correctly.
  • Check connections and log any discrepancies.
  • Read measurements, verify specifications, measure completed components and assemble the drawer to approved specifications.
  • Performs some specialized tasks which may require on-the job training.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment.
  • Ensure regulated and proper earplugs, gloves, safety glasses, and clothing are worn.
  • Clean and clear debris, while maintaining an organized inventory.
  • Other duties based on manufacturing needs as assigned by supervisor.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in operating table saw, band saw etc.
  • Work experience in metal manufacturing required.
  • Positive attitude and work ethics.
  • Able to work independently or as an active team member.
  • Wood working experience is an asset.
  • Ability to read labels, safety warnings and guidelines.
  • Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety.
  • Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers.
  • Ability to safely operate various equipment.
  • Shift - Monday to Friday
