Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented General Ledger Accountant to join our US-based client's finance team. Under the direction of the Director of Corporate Accounting & FP&A, this position is meant to support the Corporate Accounting and FP&A team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries to the general ledger, such as banking entries, allocations,and monthly accruals.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Analyze and compile financial data and generate management reports
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies
  • Support audits by providing documentation and explanations
  • Collaborate with accounting teams to resolve discrepancies
  • Analyze data to discover patterns and/or discrepancies


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA or equivalent certification (preferred)
  • 25 years of accounting experience, preferably in GL
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to answer questions in a professional and friendly manner
  • Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, vlookup, etc)
  • Team oriented and flexible attitude
  • Ability to organize, prioritize workflow and meet deadlines
