Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Duty Manager to support the smooth day-to-day running of a veterinary hospital, ensuring operational excellence, team management, and community engagement. This role is critical to maintaining standards, supporting expansion projects, and building strong relationships with internal teams, the community, and governing bodies.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Ensure hospital standards and protocols are consistently maintained across all operations.
  • Coordinate logistics for rescues, admissions, discharges, and outreach programmes.
  • Support reception duties including calls, emails, and WhatsApp enquiries.
  • Oversee maintenance, servicing, and breakdown management.
  • Assist with financial controls, recording, and reporting.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly management reports.
  • Participate in regular meetings and developmental training sessions.

Staff Management & Development

  • Oversee onboarding of staff and volunteers.
  • Support team training, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Conduct team meetings and staff appraisals.
  • Foster team motivation and community spirit.
  • Manage staff accommodation and office space planning.

Community & External Relations

  • Represent the hospital in interactions with local communities, expatriates, and tourists.
  • Assist with community outreach programmes and hospital tours for visitors and donors.
  • Support social media content creation and promotion.

Regulatory & Government Liaison

  • Build and maintain relationships with government bodies, NGOs, customs, immigration, police, and other authorities.
  • Assist with permits, licenses, and visa management.
  • Represent the organisation in meetings, events, and public forums locally and internationally.
