Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and people-focused HR Manager to lead the full HR function within a fast-paced factory and manufacturing environment.

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the complete HR lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compliance, industrial relations, and HR policy implementation. This role requires strong knowledge of Sri Lankan labour law, experience in handling factory-based HR operations, and the ability to maintain a productive and compliant workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & People Management

  • Oversee the full HR lifecycle for factory and office staff.
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, employee documentation, and performance management processes.
  • Support workforce planning and ensure manpower requirements are met on time.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR processes are properly followed.
  • Work closely with department heads to support employee performance and productivity.

Industrial Relations & Employee Engagement

  • Act as the main point of contact for labour-related matters.
  • Maintain a harmonious and productive working environment across the factory.
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace concerns professionally.
  • Support conflict resolution and ensure fair employee relations practices.
  • Build strong communication channels between management and employees.

Compliance & Labour Law

  • Ensure factory operations comply with statutory requirements and national labour regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with Sri Lankan labour laws, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support compliance audits and ensure required documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Manage disciplinary inquiries, industrial disputes, and labour-related investigations when required.
  • Identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.

HR Policy Development & Implementation

  • Implement and manage HR policies that improve employee productivity and retention.
  • Review existing HR practices and recommend improvements where required.
  • Support the development of structured HR processes for factory operations.
  • Ensure HR policies are communicated clearly and applied consistently across the organization.
  • Drive initiatives that strengthen employee discipline, engagement, and retention.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification or diploma from CIPM or an equivalent recognized institution will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in HR, with experience in a managerial role.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or factory-based environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan Labour Law is essential.
  • Proven experience in handling industrial disputes, disciplinary inquiries, and compliance audits will be a strong advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and local languages.
  • Strong negotiation, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced factory setting.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
