Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and committed Legal Liaison to support a leading Child Protection Foundation dedicated to safeguarding the rights, dignity, and well-being of children across Sri Lanka.

This role requires strong expertise in High Court litigation, child protection law, and stakeholder coordination with key legal and law enforcement authorities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing child protection cases and ensuring legal compliance and advocacy excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent and handle original court work in the High Court of Sri Lanka, particularly in child protection litigation.

• Manage and support Juvenile Court matters.

• Liaise effectively with Police, the Attorney Generals Department, Prosecutors, the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA), and other relevant stakeholders.

• Provide legal guidance and oversight on child protection cases handled by the Foundation.

• Monitor and follow up on investigations, prosecutions, and court proceedings.

• Ensure compliance with applicable child protection laws, regulations, and legal procedures.

• Stay updated on developments in child-related legislation and legal frameworks.

• Support strategic legal interventions and advocacy initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in original court work in the High Court of Sri Lanka.

• Demonstrated experience in child protection litigation.

• Proven experience handling Juvenile Court matters.

• Experience in managing and responding to police inquiries.

• • Law enforcement and child protection stakeholders

• In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of child-related laws, regulations, and procedures in Sri Lanka.

• Strong advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills.

• High ethical standards and a strong commitment to child rights.

Language Requirements

• Fluency in English and Sinhala (required).

• Proficiency in Tamil will be an added advantage.
