Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to manage accounting, inventory control, and reporting functions at a manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate material accounting, effective inventory management, cost control, and proper financial record-keeping in compliance with internal policies and local statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance

  • Maintain day-to-day accounting related to material inward, consumption, and outward movements.

  • Manage Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs), material issue notes, invoices, and vouchers.

  • Record purchase invoices, operational expenses, and journal entries accurately.

  • Support monthly account closing activities and cost reporting.

  • Assist with statutory requirements including VAT and SSCE.

  • Maintain accurate and complete financial records to support internal and external audits.

Store & Inventory Management

  • Oversee inventory control and store operations at the manufacturing facility.

  • Maintain accurate stock records and inventory documentation.

  • Conduct periodic stock counts and reconcile variances in coordination with relevant teams.

  • Monitor minimum stock levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure uninterrupted production.

  • Work closely with production, purchasing, and quality departments to ensure inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Store Management.

  • Partly qualified AAT or CA (Sri Lanka) will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in a similar role.

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment will be preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of inventory control and basic accounting principles.

  • Experience working with accounting software and ERP systems.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently at factory level with minimal supervision.

  • Good communication and coordination skills across departments.
