Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Senior Executive / Executive – Marine Talent Acquisition to support the recruitment and management of seafarers while maintaining strong relationships with candidates and international principals.
The selected candidate will be responsible for understanding recruitment requirements, sourcing suitable marine talent, coordinating interviews, managing recruitment documentation, maintaining crew records, and supporting long-term seafarer engagement. This role is ideal for a professional with experience in seafarer recruitment, crewing operations, or marine HR.
Key Responsibilities
Marine Talent Acquisition & Recruitment Coordination
- Liaise with principals to understand recruitment requirements and ensure timely candidate proposals.
- Advertise and promote seafarer vacancies across relevant platforms and social media channels.
- Source, screen, and contact suitable candidates while maintaining an active marine talent pipeline.
- Coordinate and conduct preliminary interviews with candidates.
- Facilitate interviews between shortlisted candidates and principals.
Crew Documentation & Database Management
- Prepare and manage recruitment documentation, including applications, certificates, and related records.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date crew records and documentation.
- Update and manage crewing databases with candidate and seafarer information.
- Ensure all recruitment and crew-related documentation is handled accurately and confidentially.
Candidate Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with seafarers to encourage re-joining and long-term engagement.
- Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Identify potential candidates for future development and upcoming opportunities.
- Support candidate follow-ups and ensure a professional recruitment experience.
Training & Development Support
- Identify training requirements for seafarers and potential candidates.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to support candidate readiness and development.
- Assist in maintaining records related to training needs and future talent development.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in seafarer recruitment, crewing operations, marine HR, or a similar role.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in crew planning and handling joining formalities will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication skills in English and Sinhala.
- Tamil language skills will be an added advantage.
- Experience in managing crew databases and recruitment documentation.
- Good IT literacy and familiarity with recruitment systems.
- Strong coordination, follow-up, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with candidates, seafarers, and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced recruitment environment and manage multiple requirements.
