Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Senior Manager / Manager – Business Development (Trade & Logistics) to support business promotion, investor engagement, stakeholder relationship management, and strategic business development initiatives within a large-scale real estate development and special economic zone environment.
The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying market opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, promoting trade and logistics-related propositions, supporting investor engagement, and assisting in negotiations with prospective investors. This role requires strong business development experience, excellent client-facing skills, and the ability to work with local and international stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Market Strategy
- Define marketable overall and sub-sector propositions for trade and logistics-related opportunities.
- Conduct research and benchmark similar special economic zones and regional trends.
- Develop strategic plans and recommendations to support promotion and business development.
- Identify potential trade, logistics, and investment opportunities within local and international markets.
- Support management with market insights and business development strategies.
Client & Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with local and foreign entities in the industry.
- Leverage stakeholder relationships to create and facilitate partnerships.
- Maintain relationships with relevant industry stakeholders locally and internationally.
- Assist potential investors in developing business models and proposals.
- Provide proactive solutions to address concerns raised by industry stakeholders and prospective investors.
Investor Engagement & Promotion
- Recommend and implement industry-specific strategies to penetrate international markets.
- Support international roadshows, events, and promotional activities.
- Develop and present business development plans to senior management.
- Assist in attracting investors and strengthening investor interest in trade and logistics opportunities.
- Conduct professional engagement with prospective investors throughout the business development process.
Proposal, Negotiation & Transaction Support
- Assist in preparing investment proposals, business models, and commercial presentations.
- Support negotiations of contracts and agreements with prospective investors.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to move business opportunities forward.
- Maintain professional follow-up with prospects to support successful conversion.
- Ensure business development activities are aligned with organizational objectives and market priorities.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in relevant sectors, including strategy, business development, consulting, or corporate finance.
- Exposure to multinational services businesses and international markets will be preferred.
- Strong background in trade, logistics, business development, or investment promotion.
- Experience in consulting, financial services, corporate finance, or strategic business advisory will be an added advantage.
- Strong client-facing skills with experience in negotiating and closing prospects.
- Excellent business development, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to research markets and develop business strategies.
- Ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders, investors, and industry partners.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong professionalism, commercial awareness, and stakeholder management ability.
