Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Senior Apparel Technologist / Senior Production Manager to oversee end-to-end apparel product development and production operations.

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the full production lifecycle, from product development to final delivery, while ensuring garment quality, fit, functionality, technical accuracy, and production efficiency. This role requires strong experience in garment construction, technical specifications, supplier coordination, quality control, and production management across apparel manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

Apparel Production & Product Development

• Oversee end-to-end apparel production from development stage through to final delivery.
• Manage garment construction, fit, grading, technical specifications, and production readiness.
• Collaborate with product, design, and manufacturing teams to translate concepts into production-ready garments.
• Ensure all garments meet required standards for quality, fit, performance, and functionality.
• Support product development decisions by providing technical guidance on fabrics, construction methods, and production feasibility.

Fit, Quality & Technical Management

• Lead fit sessions and ensure required corrections are clearly communicated and implemented.
• Monitor and control garment production quality across manufacturing locations.
• Conduct in-line and final inspections to ensure products meet approved standards.
• Prepare and maintain AQL reports, inspection records, and quality documentation.
• Identify quality issues during early production stages and drive corrective actions.

Production Planning & Supplier Coordination

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, and production partners.
• Monitor production timelines, capacity planning, costs, and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate closely with factories and internal teams to ensure production targets are achieved.
• Troubleshoot production delays, technical issues, and manufacturing challenges effectively.
• Ensure smooth communication between product, design, quality, and production stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in apparel production, garment technology, product development, or a similar senior production role.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, fit, grading, technical specifications, and manufacturing processes.
• Proven experience managing vendors, suppliers, factories, or offshore production operations.
• Experience in quality control, inspections, AQL reporting, and production documentation.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly within Sri Lanka.
• Experience working with international supply chains will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with performance wear, technical apparel, safety garments, or specialized apparel products will be an added advantage.
