Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and commercially focused Business Development Officer – Institutional Sales to support B2B sales growth within the construction, water management, infrastructure, and institutional project sectors.
The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, engaging with large-scale developers and state institutions, building relationships with key project stakeholders, and driving revenue growth through proactive selling, negotiation, and strong market awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and target high-potential institutional customers, including apartment developers, construction firms, government bodies, and infrastructure-related organizations.
- Develop new business opportunities across construction, water management, infrastructure, and project-based customer segments.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with architects, consultants, project managers, developers, contractors, and institutional decision-makers.
- Promote uPVC, PE, electrical switches, accessories, and related building material solutions to institutional customers.
- Assist in preparing technical bids, commercial proposals, quotations, and tender-related documents for large-scale supply contracts.
- Understand customer requirements and communicate product value propositions effectively.
- Conduct client visits, site visits, presentations, and project discussions.
- Monitor upcoming infrastructure projects, construction developments, and institutional procurement opportunities.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, customer requirements, and industry developments.
- Drive volume and revenue growth within the institutional sales segment.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery timelines, and commercial agreements.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure product availability, delivery timelines, documentation, and customer requirements are managed effectively.
- Maintain accurate customer records, sales pipelines, project updates, and follow-up reports.
- Support collection follow-ups and ensure customer commitments are tracked professionally.
- Provide regular sales updates, market feedback, and project pipeline reports to management.
- Represent the business professionally during client meetings, industry engagements, and project discussions.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in B2B sales, institutional sales, project sales, business development, or a related sales role.
- Experience in the construction, hardware, engineering, building materials, plumbing, uPVC, PE, electrical, or infrastructure sectors will be highly preferred.
- Strong ability to build relationships with architects, consultants, developers, contractors, project managers, and government-sector stakeholders.
- Experience preparing or supporting technical bids, tenders, proposals, and commercial documentation will be an advantage.
- Ability to understand technical product specifications and communicate value propositions clearly.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and customer relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English and local languages.
- Self-motivated, proactive, target-driven, and able to work independently.
- Strong market awareness with the ability to identify new project opportunities.
- Good planning, reporting, follow-up, and coordination skills.
- Ability to travel for site visits, client meetings, and project discussions.
- Valid riding license is required.
