Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to deliver high-quality support, implementation, and management of customer network infrastructure in a dynamic Managed Services (MSP) environment. This role requires expertise in networking technologies, troubleshooting, and a customer-focused mindset, with the ability to manage multiple environments and competing priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

Networking

  • Configure, support, and troubleshoot:
  • Switching and routing (Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Aruba, HP, Dell).
  • Firewalls and VPN solutions (Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Meraki Security Appliances).
  • Wireless networks (controller-based and cloud-managed solutions).
  • Manage VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), QoS, and advanced switching features.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot WAN, LAN, and SD-WAN environments.
  • Configure and monitor network security policies (ACLs, NAT, IPSec/SSL VPNs, Web Filtering).
  • Assist with performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning.

Security

  • Configure and support firewalls, intrusion prevention/detection, and endpoint integrations.
  • Implement network segmentation and zero-trust access policies.
  • Work with security tools such as MFA, VPN, EDR integrations, and monitoring systems.
  • Systems & Infrastructure Support
  • Provide basic administration of Windows Server, Active Directory, and DNS/DHCP related to networking.
  • Support hybrid cloud network integrations (Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS networking components).

Documentation & Processes

  • Maintain accurate network diagrams, configuration backups, and documentation.
  • Record detailed notes in ticketing systems (ConnectWise or equivalent).
  • Follow escalation processes and collaborate with senior engineers when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification in IT/Networking.
  • 3+ years experience in a Network Engineer or Network Support role (MSP experience is an advantage).
  • Hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls, Cisco/Cisco Meraki networking, and Aruba/HP/Dell switching.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, and switching.
  • Experience with VPN, wireless, and LAN/WAN troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with ITIL/Service Desk processes and ticketing systems (ConnectWise preferred).
  • Relevant certifications are preferred: Fortinet FCP (highly regarded), Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Aruba/HP certifications, CompTIA Network+/Security+.
  • Strong communication skills, customer focus, and ability to work under pressure.
