Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Manager / Assistant Manager – People & Culture to oversee and manage end-to-end human resource functions while fostering a positive organizational culture. The role acts as a key link between management and employees, supporting leadership with employee-related insights and ensuring effective implementation of HR strategies, policies, and people development initiatives.

The ideal candidate will contribute to building a high-performing workforce by enhancing employee engagement, strengthening HR processes, and ensuring compliance with labor regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee recruitment activities and coordinate closely with HR team members to ensure efficient hiring processes.
  • Manage HR documentation including employment contracts, employee records, and candidate communications.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities including new employee documentation, orientation sessions, and internal announcements.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation in both physical and digital formats.
  • Handle employee requests, concerns, and grievance matters while ensuring effective communication between employees and management.
  • Plan and implement employee engagement programs, training initiatives, and internal events.
  • Support leadership in talent retention initiatives including promotions, performance recognition, and employee development strategies.
  • Lead the performance management process and assist management with employee performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate leadership development programs and employee training initiatives.
  • Assist finance teams in payroll processing by providing accurate employee data and updates.
  • Administer statutory benefits including EPF, ETF, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure HR policies and practices comply with local labor laws and company regulations.
  • Develop communication channels that encourage transparency and employee feedback.
  • Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive working environment that enhances employee morale and workplace culture.
  • Support management decision-making by providing timely HR data, reports, and insights.
  • Represent the organization in professional forums, industry discussions, and relevant external engagements when required.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System standards and participate in internal and external audits.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Professional certifications in HR management will be considered an added advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of overall experience in Human Resource Management with exposure to multiple HR functions.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR compliance standards, and HR operational practices.
  • Experience in HR documentation, MIS reporting, and HR database management.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management abilities.
  • High level of professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct.
