WE ARE HIRING: Inventory Manager

Location: Katunayaka, Sri Lanka
Working Hours: Five days a week - 08:00 A.M. to 05:00 P.M.

Specific responsibilities

1. Spare Parts Inventory Management

  • Oversee and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring timely stock levels for repairs and maintenance.
  • Track inventory levels regularly and make adjustments as needed to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • Maintain inventory records accurately, including parts received, used, and disposed of.
  • Organize inventory storage, ensuring accessibility and proper labeling of parts and supplies.

2. Workshop Coordination

  • Coordinate with workshop teams to ensure they have the necessary spare parts, tools, and equipment for repairs and maintenance.
  • Track the usage of parts in the workshop, ensuring that parts are used efficiently and appropriately.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining workshop processes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.

3. Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Manage procurement of spare parts and other inventory items, ensuring the best quality and cost-effective solutions.
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers, negotiating terms, pricing, and delivery schedules to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Conduct regular supplier evaluations, ensuring they meet quality, pricing, and delivery requirements.
  • Create purchase orders, track order fulfillment, and ensure compliance with company policies.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions, including purchases, receipts, usage, and stock adjustments.
  • Prepare and submit regular inventory reports for management review, highlighting any discrepancies, trends, or forecasts.
  • Ensure all inventory data is updated and easily accessible for cross-departmental use, including finance, operations, and mechanical teams.

5. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all inventory processes comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain safety procedures for handling spare parts, chemicals, and equipment within the workshop.
  • Monitor the safe storage and handling of hazardous materials to meet safety and compliance standards.

6. Finance & Budget Management

  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure inventory costs are tracked and within budget.
  • Assist in budget planning and forecasting for inventory needs, including spare parts and workshop supplies.
  • Monitor inventory financial performance, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Must have:

  • Proven experience in inventory management, particularly in spare parts and procurement.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and financial oversight.
  • Experience in workshop coordination or a similar technical environment.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic financial and budgeting knowledge to manage inventory-related expenses.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Fluency in English, and familiarity with Airtable, Excel, or other inventory management tools.
  • Experience in automotive or mechanical parts inventory management.
  • Fluency in Sinhala or Tamil.'
