Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join one of the world's leading logistics companies. The ideal candidate must have a strong finance background, preferably with experience in the logistics or freight forwarding sector, and be familiar with international finance processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily cash operations including cash collection, payments, transaction recording, and reconciliation; share updated daily cash reports with the Finance Manager.
  • Prepare bank transfers, handle payments, collect supporting documents, and update daily bank transactions.
  • Communicate pending debit card transactions with relevant custodians and ensure timely reconciliations.
  • Verify, update, and circulate daily exchange rates based on official bank data.
  • Collect and reconcile supplier statements periodically and prepare bank transfer requests based on Finance Managers instructions.
  • Collect cash, bank, and supplier invoices from the Operations Department, verify accuracy, and upload into the Dolphin finance system via integration.
  • Ensure all financial activities are recorded in compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Part-qualified in CA Sri Lanka, CIMA (UK), or ACCA (UK)
  • (Candidate must have successfully completed at least two (2) levels or semesters of the respective qualification.)
  • 2 to 3 years of proven experience in a finance role, preferably in the logistics, shipping, or freight forwarding industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications (especially Excel).
  • Experience working with ERP systems or finance platforms (experience with Dolphin or similar systems will be an advantage).
