Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented Unreal Engine Game Developer (VR) to join our team and help create high-quality, immersive Virtual Reality (VR) experiences. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing gameplay mechanics, AI, physics, and rendering systems using Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5). This role requires a strong understanding of C++, Blueprint scripting, and modern game development principles, with a specific focus on historical and cultural VR reconstructions and interactive virtual environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement core gameplay mechanics, AI, physics, and UI elements using Unreal Engine 4/5.
  • Optimize game performance, ensuring smooth gameplay across VR platforms (Oculus, HTC Vive, PSVR, etc.), as well as PC and Console.
  • Work closely with designers, historians, and 3D artists to create authentic historical and cultural VR experiences.
  • Write clean, modular, and scalable code in C++ and Blueprint scripting.
  • Debug and resolve technical issues, ensuring a seamless VR player experience.
  • Implement VR-specific interaction mechanics, physics-based interactions, and locomotion systems tailored for immersive environments.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, Unreal Engine advancements, and VR best practices to enhance immersive storytelling.
  • Contribute to project planning, sprint reviews, and team discussions to improve development efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in Unreal Engine development, with a focus on VR projects.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Blueprint scripting for Unreal Engine.
  • Strong understanding of game physics, AI behavior, and rendering techniques.
  • Experience with VR hardware development, motion controllers, haptics, and spatial audio.
  • Knowledge of shader development, performance profiling, and optimization techniques for VR.
  • Experience with multiplayer networking and online VR systems.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Passion for VR gaming, historical reconstructions, and immersive storytelling.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with third-party VR plugins, hand tracking, and eye tracking technologies.
  • Strong math and algorithmic skills for VR physics and AI programming.
  • Portfolio showcasing past VR Unreal Engine projects, especially historical or cultural experiences.
