Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka (Onsite/UK Shift)

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to support our accounting and taxation functions for UK-based clients. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with UK accounting systems, bookkeeping tools, and a sound understanding of accountancy principles. This role is suited for individuals comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with UK time zone requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting tasks in accordance with UK accounting standards.
  • Manage account reconciliation, data entry, and financial reporting for UK clients.
  • Work with cloud-based accounting systems such as QuickBooks, XERO, IRIS, and TaxCalc.
  • Ensure timely processing of transactions, invoices, tax entries, and financial records.
  • Assist with preparing tax documentation and supporting audit requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory and client-specific standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to resolve queries and maintain service quality.

Requirements:

  • AAT qualified or ICASL/ACCA/CIMA part qualified.
  • University degree (completed 1st or 2nd year) or HND in Accounting will be an added advantage.
  • 1-2 years of experience in bookkeeping, preferably within the UK accounting industry.
  • Hands-on experience in UK Accountancy and Taxation.
  • Familiarity with accounting tools such as QB, XERO, IRIS, and TaxCalc (preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Willingness to work on UK shift hours.
