Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and people-focused Assistant Manager – Human Resources to support strategic HR partnering, recruitment, employee engagement, HR operations, compliance, employee relations, and performance management.

The selected candidate will work closely with senior management to implement HR strategies, attract and retain talent, strengthen employee engagement, ensure compliance with labour laws, and support a high-performance work culture.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Partnering

  • Collaborate with senior management to design, implement, and improve HR strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Support workforce planning, organizational development, and people-related decision-making.
  • Provide HR guidance to managers and department heads on employee-related matters.
  • Contribute to HR initiatives that improve productivity, engagement, and business performance.

Talent Management

  • Lead the end-to-end recruitment process across assigned roles and departments.
  • Manage sourcing, screening, interview coordination, selection, offer management, and onboarding.
  • Ensure a smooth onboarding process and effective integration of new employees into the organization.
  • Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
  • Coordinate with department heads to understand manpower requirements and hiring priorities.

Employee Engagement and Development

  • Support employee engagement initiatives to build a positive and productive workplace culture.
  • Coordinate employee development programs, learning initiatives, and capability-building activities.
  • Support performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, feedback, and follow-ups.
  • Assist in building a high-performance culture through structured HR practices and employee support.
  • Identify employee development needs and support suitable training or improvement initiatives.

HR Operations and Compliance

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations, including employee records, HR documentation, compensation, benefits, attendance, and policy administration.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are implemented consistently across the organization.
  • Maintain compliance with labour laws, statutory requirements, and internal HR standards.
  • Support payroll-related inputs and coordinate with finance or payroll teams when required.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS records and ensure employee data is updated on time.
  • Prepare HR reports, dashboards, and management updates when required.

Employee Relations

  • Act as a trusted advisor to employees and provide timely support on workplace concerns.
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace issues professionally.
  • Promote a fair, respectful, and positive work environment.
  • Support conflict resolution and employee communication in line with company policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling employee matters.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree or professional qualification in Human Resource Management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or management-level HR role will be preferred.
  • Experience in automobile, electric mobility, retail, manufacturing, or service-based industries will be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, HR operations, and employee relations.
  • In-depth knowledge of labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience using HR software, HRIS, or employee management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Good problem-solving ability and sound judgment in handling employee matters.
  • High level of confidentiality, integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
