Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Manager – Procurement to lead sourcing and procurement activities for packing materials used in export-oriented tea operations.

The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring reliable supply, cost efficiency, quality standards, supplier performance, and procurement effectiveness while working closely with production, finance, quality assurance, planning, and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement of packing materials for export tea operations.
• Ensure timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted production and delivery requirements.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies that improve cost efficiency, quality, reliability, and supplier performance.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable local and international suppliers.
• Build strong long-term supplier partnerships to support business continuity.
• Drive commercial negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, payment terms, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
• Manage supplier evaluations, performance reviews, contract terms, and service expectations.
• Monitor market trends, pricing movements, material availability, and supply risks.
• Provide proactive recommendations to manage procurement risks and cost changes.
• Coordinate with production, finance, quality assurance, planning, marketing, and other internal teams.
• Ensure purchased materials meet required quality standards, specifications, and operational requirements.
• Track purchase orders, delivery schedules, supplier commitments, and pending actions.
• Resolve supplier-related issues, delivery delays, material shortages, and quality concerns.
• Deliver clear reporting, spend analytics, procurement updates, and market intelligence to support management decisions.
• Support budget planning, cost-control initiatives, and procurement-related financial analysis.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier documentation, contracts, approvals, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical sourcing standards, internal controls, and company procedures.
• Identify process improvements to strengthen procurement efficiency and transparency.
• Contribute to building a capable, high-performing procurement team.
• Perform any other procurement, sourcing, or supply-chain related duties assigned by management.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Management, or a related field.
• Equivalent professional qualification in procurement, supply chain, or business management will also be considered.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or purchasing.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar managerial capacity.
• Experience in packing materials procurement will be highly preferred.
• Experience in tea exports, FMCG, food manufacturing, packaging, manufacturing, or export-oriented operations will be an advantage.
• Proven track record of delivering cost savings and improving supplier performance.
• Strong experience in supplier negotiation, supplier evaluation, contract management, and procurement execution.
• Good understanding of quality, cost, delivery, and compliance requirements in procurement.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to support business decisions through procurement insights.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor spend, pricing trends, and supplier performance.
• Ability to manage multiple procurement priorities and deadlines.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Experience using ERP or procurement systems will be an advantage.
• Professional, ethical, accountable, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and support a procurement team.
