Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Manager – Business Development (IT Solutions Selling) to drive growth within the Government and Public Sector. This role is responsible for identifying and managing new business opportunities, leading end-to-end sales cycles, and building strong relationships with key public sector stakeholders while ensuring compliance with procurement and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales

Identify, develop, and manage business opportunities within Government and Public Sector organizations.

Drive sales of IT solutions including software, hardware, systems integration, cloud services, cyber-security, data solutions, and managed services.

Achieve assigned revenue targets and contribute to overall business growth objectives.
Government & Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, departments, and key decision-makers.

Represent the organization at government meetings, industry events, and public sector forums.
Tender & Proposal Management

Track, analyze, and respond to RFPs, RFQs, and tenders in line with procurement guidelines.

Coordinate with pre-sales, technical, and delivery teams to develop competitive and compliant proposals.

Manage the full sales lifecycle from opportunity identification through contract negotiation and closure.
Account & Compliance Management

Develop account plans and long-term engagement strategies for key government clients.

Ensure adherence to government procurement processes, legal frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Qualifications
-
Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
-
An MBA or professional sales certifications will be an added advantage.
Experience
-
6–10+ years of experience in IT solutions sales or business development.
-
Proven experience selling solutions to Government or Public Sector clients.
Preferred Skills / Other Qualifications

Strong understanding of government procurement processes, tender management, and RFP response frameworks.

Experience selling one or more of the following:

IT solutions and services

Software / SaaS
-
Systems integration
-
Cloud, data, cybersecurity, or enterprise applications

Strong negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work closely with technical and delivery teams to shape effective solutions.

Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
