Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Assistant Manager – Business Development to drive sales growth, market expansion, and new business development within the logistics industry.

The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying new markets, developing client relationships, understanding customer pain points, proposing suitable business solutions, and converting opportunities into successful sales. This role requires strong institutional sales experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to aggressively drive revenue growth through proactive lead generation and deal closure.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Growth & Business Development

  • Own and exceed monthly and annual sales targets through proactive lead generation and consistent follow-up.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across existing and untapped markets.
  • Drive sales growth by positioning specialized solutions to industrial and commercial clients.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and convert qualified opportunities into closed business.
  • Support revenue growth through high-frequency prospecting, pitching, and closing.

Market Penetration & Sector Expansion

  • Execute strategic market entry plans into high-potential industries.
  • Build strong presence among existing and new industrial and commercial clients.
  • Identify emerging market needs and convert them into product-led sales opportunities.
  • Diversify revenue streams by securing business in new application areas.
  • Conduct continuous market mapping to stay ahead of competition and identify growth opportunities.

Client Solution Selling

  • Understand client pain points and recommend suitable solutions based on their operational requirements.
  • Present technical and commercial proposals that address client needs effectively.
  • Move technical pitches through trial, validation, and final contract closure stages.
  • Build trust-based relationships with clients through professional communication and practical solution support.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure client requirements are properly understood and delivered.

Relationship Management & Reporting

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, prospects, and business partners.
  • Prepare sales updates, pipeline reports, and market feedback for management.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, proposals, and follow-ups.
  • Support management with insights on market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience as an institutional salesperson.
  • Experience in business development, industrial sales, logistics solutions, packaging solutions, or B2B sales will be an added advantage.
  • Recognized professional qualification in Marketing and Sales.
  • Strong sales skills, including prospecting, lead generation, negotiation, and closing deals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Strategic, self-motivated, and target-driven personality.
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and present suitable business solutions.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and convert market opportunities.
