WE ARE HIRING: Area Sales Manager
Industry: Footwear / FMCG (Retail & Wholesale)

Role Overview

We are seeking a results-oriented, self-motivated, and dynamic sales professional to manage the sales function within a demarcated area. The role focuses on field sales leadership, distributor management, team performance, and ensuring product availability and service quality while driving results in a competitive FMCG and footwear market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be present in the field to ensure availability and visibility of products and quality of service delivery

  • Manage and oversee sales operations within the assigned geographical area

  • Drive sales performance through effective distributor management

  • Lead, motivate, and monitor the sales team to achieve targets

  • Ensure strong execution of sales strategies and market coverage

  • Maintain meticulous field-related administration

  • Provide periodic and timely reporting and information flow to Top Management to support critical decision-making

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications

  • Degree in Marketing or Business Management, or professional qualifications in CIM / SLIM

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of working experience

  • Mandatory experience in the FMCG industry (Retail / Wholesale)

  • Experience in distributor management

  • Knowledge of MS Office packages (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint) will be an added advantage

  • Exposure to computer-integrated working environments such as IFS will be an added advantage

  • Strong business acumen with independent result orientation

  • Excellent leadership and perseverance to drive team performance

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for timely decision-making

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills in both Sinhala and English
