Job Summary:

The Senior Manager Logistics and Freight Forwarding is responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound logistics operations, including domestic and international freight, customs clearance, warehousing, distribution, and documentation. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, cost optimization, and seamless end-to-end movement of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage international and domestic freight operations via sea, air, and land.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, and agents to negotiate rates and optimize routes.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and regulations, including customs clearance and bonded cargo documentation.
• Manage consolidation for LCL, FCL, and multimodal shipments while ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies.
• Supervise warehousing and inventory control activities.
• Develop and evaluate logistics service providers, including warehouse operators and transport providers.
• Maintain accurate freight records and reports for audits and internal use.
• Coordinate Letters of Credit (LC) documentation and processes related to trade.
• Monitor logistics budgets, costs, and ensure adherence to assigned budgets.
• Lead and mentor logistics staff, providing training and development.
• Develop training programs to enhance team capabilities.
• Ensure alignment with organizational goals and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or related field.
• Professional certifications in freight forwarding, international trade (e.g., FIATA, IATA, CILT, APICS) will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 8-12 years of experience in logistics and freight forwarding, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Strong knowledge of import/export procedures, customs clearance, and international freight regulations.
• Experience with global logistics practices and Incoterms (CIF, FOB, DDP, etc.).
• Strong negotiation skills with shipping lines and agents.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional logistics teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of regional languages is an asset.
