Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead – Data Engineering to build and strengthen a robust data foundation supporting advanced analytics, artificial intelligence initiatives, and enterprise data platforms. This role focuses on designing scalable data pipelines, maintaining high data quality standards, and enabling seamless collaboration between internal analytics teams and external technology partners.

The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership while driving best practices in data engineering, governance, and modern cloud-based data architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and oversee scalable, production-ready ETL/ELT data pipelines from core enterprise systems to support analytics and AI initiatives.
• Implement data engineering solutions that support enterprise data platforms and enable efficient data consumption by downstream applications.
• Promote the use of data virtualization techniques to reduce unnecessary data replication while maintaining efficient data access.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and code reviews for data engineering teams.
• Implement automated data quality checks and enforce strong data governance practices.
• Ensure best practices in testing, version control, and CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows.
• Collaborate with internal analytics teams and external technology vendors to ensure seamless data integration.
• Optimize data architecture to support high-performance analytics and enterprise reporting needs.
• Support the development of scalable and secure data infrastructure aligned with organizational technology strategies.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering.
• Previous experience in roles such as Tech Lead – Data Engineering, Senior Data Engineer, or similar leadership positions.
• Experience within the banking or financial services domain will be considered an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of data pipeline architecture, data governance, and enterprise data management practices.

Technical Skills

• Experience working with Spark, Kafka, SQL, BigQuery, and Snowflake for data engineering solutions.
• Hands-on experience with data virtualization tools such as Denodo or similar platforms.
• Programming knowledge in Python, Scala, or Java.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiarity with DevOps and infrastructure tools including Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Airflow.
