Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and organized Storekeeper to manage inventory, stock control, goods receiving, dispatch preparation, warehouse documentation, and store operations within the electric mobility and automobile sector.
The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring proper storage and handling of materials, supporting logistics coordination, preparing stock reports, and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized store environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage overall inventory and stock control activities efficiently.
- Receive, inspect, verify, and record incoming goods.
- Check goods against purchase orders, delivery notes, and supporting documents.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and arrangement of items for easy access and safety.
- Monitor stock levels and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Update inventory systems, stock cards, ERP records, or related documentation on time.
- Prepare and issue materials for dispatch while ensuring accuracy in quantity and quality.
- Coordinate with logistics, operations, sales, service, and other departments to support timely deliveries.
- Maintain proper documentation for goods received, goods issued, transfers, returns, and stock adjustments.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports.
- Conduct regular stock checks and support stock verification activities.
- Identify stock discrepancies, damages, shortages, or excess items and report them promptly.
- Minimize stock losses, damages, misplacements, and inventory discrepancies.
- Follow proper handling and storage procedures for all materials and spare parts.
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance within the store area.
- Maintain effective communication with internal teams regarding stock availability and dispatch requirements.
- Support warehouse and logistics activities when required.
- Perform any other storekeeping, inventory, or warehouse-related duties assigned by management.
Candidate Profile
- Passed GCE Ordinary Level or Advanced Level.
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in storekeeping, logistics, warehouse operations, inventory control, or a related role.
- Good knowledge of inventory management practices.
- Experience handling automobile spare parts will be an added advantage.
- Ability to handle stock accurately, efficiently, and responsibly.
- Basic IT knowledge, including Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using inventory systems, ERP systems, or SAP will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of goods receiving, storage, issuing, dispatch, and stock reporting processes.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to work independently and handle responsibilities effectively.
- Good communication skills in Sinhala and English.
- Ability to communicate in Tamil will be an added advantage.
- Reliable, disciplined, proactive, and willing to learn.
- Ability to coordinate with internal teams and support smooth store operations.
