Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Marine Cook to join a vessel-based team and manage daily meal preparation, galley hygiene, food safety, and kitchen operations onboard.

The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing meals for the crew, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, following food safety procedures, and carrying out duties independently or as instructed by the Vessel Master.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook daily meals for vessel crew members.
  • Plan meals according to crew requirements, available provisions, and vessel schedules.
  • Ensure food is prepared safely, hygienically, and to an acceptable quality standard.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the galley, food preparation areas, storage areas, and kitchen equipment.
  • Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain high food safety standards at all times.
  • Monitor food stock levels and inform relevant personnel of replenishment requirements.
  • Support proper storage of dry goods, frozen items, fresh produce, and kitchen supplies.
  • Minimize food wastage and ensure efficient use of provisions.
  • Clean and maintain cooking utensils, equipment, and galley work areas.
  • Follow vessel safety procedures and hygiene requirements.
  • Execute duties independently and responsibly.
  • Carry out instructions given by the Vessel Master or authorized vessel management.
  • Support smooth onboard operations through reliable catering and galley management.
  • Perform any other duties related to vessel catering and galley operations as required.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an offshore cook or marine cook.
  • Previous experience cooking onboard vessels, offshore units, or marine operations is required.
  • Valid Continuous Discharge Certificate is required.
  • Valid Seaman Medical Certificate with 2-year validity is required.
  • Certificate of Proficiency in Personal Survival Techniques is required.
  • Certificate of Proficiency in Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting is required.
  • Certificate of Proficiency in Elementary First Aid is required.
  • Certificate of Proficiency in Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities is required.
  • Certificate of Proficiency in Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties is required.
  • Good knowledge of food preparation, kitchen hygiene, and food safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently in a vessel-based environment.
  • Good discipline, reliability, and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work under vessel conditions and manage galley operations responsibly.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with crew members professionally.
  • Physically fit and willing to work onboard as per vessel operational requirements.
