What you'll do:
This role is responsible for effectively, efficiently, and proactively undertaking civil engineering designs and documentation across a range of projects. The position reports directly to the Head of Engineering and has no direct reports
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Preparation of civil engineering designs, specifications, models, and supporting documentation.
- Providing civil engineering designs and services that are fit for purpose, practical, cost effective, and comply with relevant design and regulatory standards, WHS, and Quality Control requirements.
- Undertake and assist in the preparation of quotations, tenders, and bills of quantities.
- Work closely with team members to clarify design, drafting, and/or documentation issues throughout the design, documentation, and construction phases of projects.
- Accurately record project and timesheet information.
- Liaise with clients and attend client meetings where required.
- Proactively plan, manage, coordinate, track, and run assigned project tasks.
- Provide regular project reviews and reporting to the Engineering Manager and/or Directors as required.
- Conduct thorough self-checking and checking of information, drawings, and documentation undertaken by others.
- Manage and coordinate relationships with clients, subconsultants, and contractors.
- Foster relationships with key clients, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and government.
- Ensure all project activities are conducted in accordance with the company's systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain project files and keep documentation in order.
- Undertake other tasks as delegated by the Engineering Manager and/or Directors.
- Provide technical advice to management, staff, and clients.
- Supervise, manage, and support the development of staff as required.
- Undertake site inspections and visits as required.
- Participate in client meetings and industry training/seminars for continued professional development.
- Adopt continuous learning and improvement processes across all aspects of the role.
- Implement and promote company policies, processes, and procedures.
Successful candidate must have:
- Minimum 2 years of civil engineering design experience within an Australian consultancy or local government environment. Must-have
- Demonstrated knowledge of NSW regulatory requirements including council DCP, AS/NZS standards, Sydney Water, and stormwater/drainage frameworks. Must-have
- Intermediate to strong skills in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
- Good level of civil engineering design software skills and knowledge.
- Certificate III in Drafting Trades, Diploma in Civil Engineering, and/or a university Engineering degree recognised by Engineers Australia, or equivalent. (nice to have)
- Ability to work well both autonomously and within a team environment.

Work Arrangements:
- Schedule: 6:00 am - 3:00 pm PHT
