Senior React Native Motion Engineer

Role Overview

We are hiring a senior React Native engineer to build highly polished, animation-heavy mobile experiences with strong focus on rendering performance, interaction quality, and modern UI architecture.

Requirements

Experience

• 5+ years professional software engineering experience
• 3+ years production experience with React Native
• 2+ years experience building advanced mobile animations/interactions
• Experience shipping at least 1 consumer-facing mobile app with:
  • 50k+ users
  • OR high engagement usage patterns
  • OR animation-intensive interfaces

Technical Skills

Strong experience with:

• React Native Reanimated
• React Native Gesture Handler
• performance optimization and profiling
• gesture-driven interfaces
• shared values/worklets
• virtualization and render optimization
• mobile rendering fundamentals

Preferred:

• Skia
• Fabric/New Architecture
• JSI/native modules
• shader or graphics experience
• experience optimizing for low-end Android devices

Performance Expectations

Candidate should be able to:

• build interactions targeting 60 FPS on mid-range Android devices
• diagnose frame drops and rendering bottlenecks
• explain CPU vs GPU tradeoffs
• optimize JS thread utilization
• minimize unnecessary rerenders/layout passes
