Role description:

The Production Manager will oversee and manage the Manufacturing process from Raw Material intake to Final Products, ensuring that quality standards are kept according to Customer specifications at all times. Driving technical performance to maximum outputs and ensuring budget adherence.

Required skills:

Grade 12 and higher education

Minimum 10 years experience as Production Manager

Food safety or similar experience (HACCP, ISO, FSSC)

Fumigation, Grading and OHS experience advantageous

Computer Literate MS Word and Excel

Own transport

GMF/SAMGA Modules including practical trade test passed

Management Experience

General HR experience Time sheets, Leave, Performance assessments, Disciplinary action, Training plans.

Budgeting experience

Excellent Planning ability

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Daily production planning

Ensure that all production units run at the installed capacity to increase productivity and profitability

Production is reconciled to stock issued and packed.

Ensure consistent product quality

Plan production by machine to ensure all products scheduled are produced

To ensure all Product packed complies with customer specifications

Ensure availability of raw materials

Product mixing with approved product specs.

Ensure daily stock control and minimizing shortages

Ensure that equipment is maintained

Record and control stock usage and losses.

Optimize usage of mill plant capacity.

Ensure all scales are calibrated according to service frequencies

Track and Control Maintenance needs and schedules

Management of Staff Compliment

Prepare and ensure adherence to budget.

Identify, Diarise training for Staff in your department

Ensure OPRPs are managed effectively.

The successful candidate will report to the General Manager. Remuneration will be determined according to qualification & experience. The company offers the normal benefits of a large company.
