About the job Working Foreman

The purpose of this position is to ensure that best management practices are followed in all areas of responsibility regarding the Workshop - operations, procedures and actions. Promoting a customer service orientated business, to implement and uphold actions in line with company strategic vision and to operate the Workshop profitably according to set targets.

Key Performance Areas

Management of Workshop in line with budget and company strategic objectives (Work in progress, work scheduling, quality of work, quote accuracy, profitability of individual workshops and department, profitability of maintenance contracts etc)
Overall responsibility to ensure quality customer service of the Workshop, to ensure optimum response time and professional service always. (Through the evaluation of technician's, administrative and supervisory staff's training needs and ensuring lack of knowledge / skills are addressed.)
Overall responsibility to manage Workshop Personnel. (Including performance monitoring, payroll information, weekly / monthly departmental meetings, managing leave and absenteeism, ensure effective internal communication).
Ensure regular feedback to the department staff keeping everyone up to date with company news, market trends and other relevant information.
Customer Care – regular visits, dispute resolution, promotion of services and general relationship building with our customer base
Preparation and presentation of weekly, monthly and quarterly + ad hoc reports.
Overall responsibility to ensure the Workshop team follows administrative procedures correctly.
Ensure that health and safety requirements are met, premises and that all regulations are adhered to

Minimum Requirements

Trade test, 5 years + industry experience, STEP 3 technical competencies
Knowledge requirements:
o Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, quality standards for service, and evaluation CSI.
o Administration and Management: Knowledge of basic business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
o English Language: Effective Communication both verbal and written.
o Clerical: Knowledge of the companies administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
o Personnel and Human Resources: Basic knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, training, labour relations and negotiation.
Required Skills and Abilities:
o Time Management: managing one's own time and the time of others.
o Coaching and Development: Teaching others how to do something.
o Management of Personnel Resources: Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.

Required Certificates, Licences, Registrations:
A Trade Qualification Mechanic Forklift technician or equivalent technical qualification Relevant experience in a Workshop / Technical Service environment
Code 8 driver's licence
