Senior Estimator — Heavy Civil

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Estimator to manage full-cycle bids for public-sector civil and sitework projects throughout NYC, taking ownership of takeoffs, pricing, scope reviews, subcontractor leveling, and complete proposal submissions on projects up to $100M.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established general contractor with over 80 years in business, delivering civil work for major public agencies including MTA / NYC Transit, LIRR, DASNY, NYC SCA, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver complete estimates from drawings and specifications through final bid submission

• Evaluate constructability, develop bid strategies, and align scopes with union labor and subcontracting plans

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth transition from preconstruction to operations

• Maintain market pricing data, subcontractor coverage, and manage competitive bid-day execution

• Utilize estimating and project software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar tools

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience estimating heavy civil or sitework projects in NYC (public-agency work strongly preferred)

• Proven ability to independently produce accurate, timely, and competitive bids

• Strong attention to detail, solid pricing judgment, and clear communication under deadline pressure
