About the job Data Architect

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect with a proven track record in designing and implementing modern, scalable data platforms across multiple technologies, such as Azure and AWS. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and other modern data architectures (e.g., Data Lakehouse, Delta Lake). As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for shaping data strategies, ensuring best practices in data engineering, and driving data solutions that support advanced analytics and executive decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Architecture & Design:

  • Design end-to-end modern data architectures leveraging technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, and AWS data services.
  • Develop robust data pipelines and frameworks to enable data ingestion, transformation, and consumption in a scalable and secure manner.
  • Architect medallion-style data models (bronze, silver, gold layers) for structured and unstructured data to support analytics and AI use cases.
  • Define and implement best practices for data modeling, data governance, and data security across the enterprise data platform.
  • Evaluate and recommend the right technology stacks for modern data solutions (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Delta Lake, etc.).

Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, BI developers, and AI specialists to ensure data solutions meet business requirements.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to project teams, providing strategic guidance and oversight for data architecture decisions.
  • Provide mentorship and knowledge sharing within the team on best practices and new trends in data engineering and architecture.

Data Platform Enablement & Optimization:

  • Drive the adoption and optimization of Data Platform and related data services, ensuring performance, reliability, and security standards are met.
  • Identify data performance bottlenecks and implement scalability strategies for high-volume data scenarios.
  • Support data integration initiatives, including API integrations, external data feeds, and hybrid environments.

Documentation & Standards:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, including data flow diagrams, integration blueprints, and data governance policies.
  • Establish and enforce data quality standards and data lineage frameworks to support enterprise data governance.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or similar roles.
  • Hands-on experience with MS Fabric (OneLake, Direct Lake, Data Factory), Azure Synapse, Databricks, and AWS data services (e.g., Redshift, Glue, S3).
  • Strong knowledge of modern data platforms (Lakehouse, Medallion architecture, Delta Lake).
  • Expertise in data modeling, data governance, and data security best practices.
  • Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration tools (Azure Data Factory, Airflow, etc.) and real-time streaming frameworks (e.g., Kafka).
  • Proven ability to work in multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS) and to select appropriate tools based on business needs.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and how they integrate with modern data platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with both technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Certifications in Azure Data Engineer, AWS Data Analytics, or similar.
  • Experience working on executive-level dashboards and AI-enhanced data solutions.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.

Remuneration:

Competitive benefits and growth opportunities in a rapidly evolving data environment.

How to Apply:

Interested candidates should send their CV and a brief cover note highlighting their Power BI experience and dashboard portfolio to hr@iq-data.com. We thank all applicants for their interest; only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
