Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Legal Virtual Assistant to join our team and assist with various legal tasks. Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume and a cover letter outlining their relevant experience and qualification specializing in Family Law (property settlement & parenting), Estate Planning (Wills, Power of Attorney & Enduring Guardianship)/Letters Administration, Conveyancing (Sale & Transmission), Financial Agreements, and Estate Disputes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Family Law:
- Assist in the preparation and filing of documents related to property settlements and parenting arrangements.
- Draft correspondence, affidavits, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases.
2. Estate Planning:
- Prepare and review Wills, Power of Attorney, and Enduring Guardianship documents.
- Assist in the administration of estates and preparation of Letters of Administration.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on case progress.
3. Conveyancing:
- Manage the conveyancing process for property sales and transmissions.
- Prepare and review contracts, settlement statements, and other relevant documents.
- Liaise with clients, real estate agents, and other parties involved in property transactions.
4. Financial Agreements:
- Draft and review financial agreements, including prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and provide advice on agreement terms
5. Estate Disputes/Probate:
- Assist in the preparation of documents related to estate disputes and probate matters.
- Conduct research and gather evidence for disputes.
- Prepare court documents and assist with filing and serving documents.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, or similar role in a law firm or legal
- department.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and document formats.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information and client matters.
- Proficiency in using legal research tools.
- Strong analytical skills
